Shōtengai are local street markets that can be found across cities in Japan. Embodying the atmosphere of Shōtengai, a wide range of products will be available, with a focus on small businesses and independent retailers.
These events will be about much more than commerce, there will also be an emphasis on building bonds between businesses and with the larger London community. Co-curated by Beams & Co, the market sees some of the best London based Pan-Asian traders joining the street.
The market runs Fridays 12 – 7pm and Saturday & Sunday 11am – 6pm.
Upcoming dates are:
24 – 26 Nov
15 – 17 Dec
The vendors are always changing, but expect the likes of (ki:ts) London, selling the best in Japanese homewares, accessories and fashion brands, the most stylist Tokyo bikes, and letterpress artisan, Problem Press.
Be blown away by delicious food. Previous food vendors and stalls have included Japanese breads from Rise Bakery Bar, glorious cakes by Shima, Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake) from Okan London, and Japanese much-loved soul food, Takoyaki (Japanese fish finger) from Takoyaki Iseji.
