Tom Hanks narrates The Moonwalkers, an epic experience offering a unique perspective on humankind’s past and future voyages to the moon.

Tom Hanks co-wrote The Moonwalkers with Christopher Riley, the double BAFTA-nominated writer-director. Original NASA footage and breath-taking images from Andy Saunders’ Apollo Remastered will transform Lightroom’s vast space into an immersive journey to the lunar surface, brought to life by co-directors Nick Corrigan and Lysander Ashton of 59 Productions.
The show tells the stories of the Apollo missions, reflecting their gripping journeys at spectacular scale. Newly filmed interviews between Hanks and astronauts of the current Artemis programme will grant an insight into the return of crewed surface missions to the moon.
Hanks himself will provide the voiceover, accompanied by a spectacular original orchestral score by Anne Nikitin whose previous work includes the Apple TV+ hit series HIJACK starring Idris Elba and the cult heist movie American Animals starring Evan Peters and Barry Keoghan.

Lightroom is London’s new home for spectacular artist-led shows, having launched with David Hockney: Bigger and Closer (not smaller & further away), which is currently playing until 3 December 2023.
It is an extraordinary four-storey space in King’s Cross equipped with the latest digital projection and audio technology, it aspires to be visually astonishing, alive with sound and rich in new perspectives.
Lightroom is located on Lewis Cubitt Square, adjacent to Coal Drops Yard. The generous foyer contains a café/bar run in collaboration with St John, a gift shop and seating in the foyer and outside on the square.

There is a free cloakroom for jackets and coats available in the venue but Lightroom do not have storage space for luggage, they recommend using luggage storage facilities at Kings Cross station.
