Mentivity Exhibition on Lower Stable Street

Through Their Eyes is an exhibition that showcases images by two talented 9-year-old photographers, Olami and Salifu, taken at their primary school in Southwark.

The mentoring organisation, Mentivity, wanted to capture the essence of the work they do with young people. So they went straight to the source and asked the duo to be a part of this artistic showcase. The work is on display in the lightboxes along Lower Stable Street. It is FREE and open to the public all day.

Olami and Salifu

Having worked with Olami and Salifu for some time, and having seen their passion for technology, Mentivity thought they would be the perfect candidates to execute the vision for the exhibition. The duo accepted the invitation without a moment’s thought; this enthusiasm is infectious and comes across in the images.

To help sculpt the series of photos, Olami and Salifu were asked “what are some of the words you would use to describe how Mentivity works, what it stands for, and what it does?”. They responded with a list of values and ideas that have been captured in the photographs you see on the Lower Stable Street Lightboxes:

Community | Respect | Excellence | Core Values | Compassion | Better Decisions | Learning | Fun | Responsibility | Light In A Dark Room | Perseverance

All images are captured by Olami & Salifu, with the careful guidance of Lawrie Wilson.
