The sport for change charity, Bloomsbury Football, are showcasing 20 photographs that celebrate the power of girls getting on the pitch. It highlights the importance of removing barriers to football, allowing young women to reach their potential and enjoy the beautiful game.
The images will be exhibited on the benches in King’s Boulevard, Pancras Square and Battle Bridge Place until the end of November, as part of King’s Cross’ Outside Art Project.
This photo series focuses on 16 girls from the Bloomsbury Football community, aged between 10 and 16. It honours the power of football and how the sport helps them build confidence and learn new skills.
The exhibition focuses on young women around the country who face the stark reality that opportunities and access to the sport remain limited. This is even after the Lionesses’ historic win in the UEFA Women’s Euros 2022 and a record-breaking FIFA Women’s World Cup. The message is loud and clear: girls belong on the pitch, and everyone is welcome.

The charity’s fastest growing programme is dedicated to Changing the Game for Girls, engaging over 1,500 girls per week and breaking down barriers to participation in the sport. They combine football with educational workshops for girls of all abilities, providing opportunities for young women across London to reach their full potential.
